The complete guide
Setting up a free-standing solar fountain and feeder
This is a complete ornament rather than a pump to add to a bird bath, so setting it up is really about placing it well.
Stand it level and in the sun
Set it on firm, level ground where the panel gets plenty of light. A wide, stable base does the rest — no pond, no bird bath, no digging. Fill the reservoir and it starts trickling as soon as the sun is on the panel.
Use it as a feeder too
Add seed to the flower plates and it waters and feeds the birds at once. Keep the seed dry side and the water side topped up, and you will have a busy little wildlife station in no time.
Keep the filter box clean
Rinse the built-in filter box regularly — it is what keeps the fountain from clogging and the trickle steady. A quick clean now and then is really all this feature asks of you.
