The complete guide
Keeping a floating fountain where you put it
This fountain is all about staying put, so fit the fixers and it will look after itself.
Fit the fixed pipes first
Clip the four anti-drift pipes on and adjust them to brace against the sides of your bird bath before you set it floating. This is what keeps it centred and stops the spray going over the edge.
Choose a low nozzle for birds
A soft, low dome keeps the water inside the basin and is exactly what small birds and hummingbirds like. Save the taller plumes for a wider basin where there is room for the water to fall back in.
Keep the panel clean, the basin full
Wipe the glass panel so it charges strongly, and keep the water topped up so the pump stays submerged. With no battery, it simply follows the sun — clean panel, full basin, and it plays whenever the light is on it.
